Pond Motel Rm. # 14

Over the years our pond has been a stop along the flight path of many birds.
This Wood Duck(Aix sponsa) stayed for a day and then off he went. He sure is a beauty. MB

Chicken's ear

Did you know that Chickens have ears. That fuzzy hole where the feathers start is the ear.
A tidbit from my mind full of trivia. But not a trivial mind.

Are we going somewhere???

The men are having a confab....
The women are resting (so they say--I say gossiping)...
So lets sash-shay our feathers away.
Shhhhhhhh

BTW: These are Trumpeter Swan. They winter over in the Valley.

I took these today down in Skagit Valley--It was a nice day. We still have a few feet of snow at our house but seeing that the valley is almost sealevel--they have NO snow.
