Weather in western Washington

The sky at noon. How do you think the rest of the day turned out.

Weather here is like an adventure. Don't listen to the weatherperson, just look outside and that is what's happening. It might start out one way but it surely will end up another. So this past week we started out with snow and very cold temps, the next day was sunny and beautiful and two days latermore snow and then rain and rain and today was a very nice day---partly sunny and partly cloudy--that's a good weatherman term. LOL
So it's not like some places in the US where it is every day low 60s and high 80s---wouldn't that be everso boring. haha!!

Case in point: Two pictures--One
eagle. the same eagle, the same tree, the same day--each picture was taken from a different angle. The sky is blue one way and gray the other. Go figure!

This is todays (sat. Nov.27th) sunset. The sun is going down, the dark clouds are hanging low but up above the sky is blue. hmmmmm.....
I suppose you want to call it Twilight.

Daffy Duck???

On the ferry boat on my way to whidbey Island I spotted these silly looking ducks in the water. there were bunches of them. they are always very busy and when they take off the fly single file and promply land in the water again. they are Surf Scoters. Only the male has the loud colored bill. they are very comical to me. MB

Moon in the Morning

I go out every morning and feed the goats, get the paper and let the dogs run and play. And this morning was bright and sunny even though we had a storm roll through the day before. and then to my amazement there hanging in the west was the almost full moon. So here it is--8:30 AM Tuesday morning--it just didn't want to go down.

Ring around the moon.....

I took these pixs tonight November 20th at 6:45PM.
There is an old adage about the ring around the Moon (Lunar Corona)and that is that it is going to rain or maybe even snow. We always said it meant snow and the snow didn't always show up. Oh ye of little faith. LOL I think the saying is thus:
'Ring around the moon or sun
Now the weather is on the run.' Now what does that mean. The weather is always changing around here so maybe we are on the run. MB

My brother John

Nothing to do on this wet and soggy day so I was looking at pictures. These are from a few years ago.
This is my brother John--his life wish was to be a rock stsr. He played bass and sang in several bands. He was pretty good too. He still plays here and there.
My Mother has done Stained Glass for several years and just recently packed away her tools of the trade. This is a window she did of her guitar playing son. It was/is a fair sized window too. John has it now.

Old rake~~~~Sepia Scenes

I took this picture of an old rake sitting in a field when I was in Ritzville. I liked it. I tried to do a Sepia treatment on it but no matter what I did the color still popped through. I still like it. MB

Mt Baker

My Power went off at 9PM last night and now 9ishAM it has finally come back on.
Wet, Wild and windy but thank goodness not too cold. So I am late but here now!

This Mt. Baker taken across the valley through a shrub growing on a barb wire fence. It is a Euonymous europaeus (maybe). Beautiful color and hot pink fruits.

Wintering in the Valley

The Snow Geese are BACK! They winter over in the valley and then in March or so (the farmers say please leave in March) back to the Siberian Tundra breeding grounds.
I am sure you all will see more pics of them. MB
