Seeing things

Colors in the clouds. Very pretty. The camera doesn't pick up all the colors.It was just glowing. It's not the sun because the sun was over here. Is it a sun dog? Or just a pup?

SNOW!

Yesterday we had snow. Well I woke up to snow on the ground and then more snow during the day. Schools were closed. More snow was forecast and we did get more over night but it is warming up now so it will all disappear by afternoon. This is what it looked like yesterday.

History

I went to the town of Lynden yesterday. It is North of me, up near the Canadian border. Went to the Historical museum and was pleasantly surprised. A very nice museum made to look like a little town. Little rooms to show life in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Here is the kitchen.

Icy Edges

So today I am off to see my Mother. I was going to go on Thursday but didn't get there. Tomorrow snow is forecast so I had better go today. It has been very cold but sunny the past few days. I like that sun. Here is part of my waterfall. beautiful water and icy edges.

The Long Road

Took these pics yesterday. I always take Kylee to her school bus stop, mainly because it is pitch black outside. Yesterday being cold and sunny the dogs and I walked to meet her after school.
Here she comes and there she goes.

Random pics

I take so many pictures because I love the outdoors and all the photo ops I see. I just want everyone to see the beauty I see that I get frustated as where to post them. That is why I sometimes post so many at once.
These pictures I took this morning. They all were taken in the 7:15 to 7:30 range. The beautiful full moon was still out and Mt. Rainier was just waking up. It is cold for out here and the pond has a thin (very thin) skin of ice on part of it. There is ice on the waterfall. So here goes I hope you enjoy.

A bird in the bush...........

The Skagit Valley is awash with birds....more than before. The different birds start way up north and feed their way down to their wintering ground. A lot stay on Vancouver Island and a lot end up in the Valley. These guys (Snow Geese) are just down the hill from me. Beautiful!! 10s 0f thousands and when they congregate like this it is awesome and very noisy. And look at the Eagle sitting up in the tree watching the noisy squabbling below him.

Little farm

This house belongs to this pretty farm. New houses going in all around. At least the zoning is 5acres or more.

My new house

I love this little house. I just found it on thursday. I think it has great potential. Don't you? I showed it to a friend. Friend said, 'great and you are buying--and the price range is...what...$0 to $75 dollars?'
Well I like it anyway.

Two aging ladies

Coming home from my Mother's yesterday I went through the town of Everett. One area of Everett has many Older homes, most of them in great repair. Rucker Ave is on a ridge overlooking the waterfront (Port Gardiner Bay) so of course the wealthier people of years ago lived there. Now they are wonderful neighbors. Here are two houses, both being restored (thank goodness). They were both built in 2005. The first one has been made into apartments and the second is single family--although what is next for these elder ladies I don't know.
This third house is another example of the kind of houses on that street also.

My Blue Couch

It is 4:54 AM out here and I am doing all my little stuff so I can get everything done before I go visit my MOther. I have to take KYLEE to her school bus too. I hope it will be half-way nice because I want to put the dogs in the outside kennel. I wouldn't like to stay cooped up in a dark garage all day long.
Here are some indoor pictures---My blue couch which is a favorite of mine and the view you get when sitting one it. I changed the mantle from Christmas and before and may change it again. I have no style.

In Texas almost the whole town saw some UFO's. What do ya think of mine?

Another ageless Beauty

Another beautiful house on Pleasant Ridge. It was built in 1906 which is pretty old out here but not so old in the eastern part of US. Almost next to the Parsonage I posted awhile back. The view down the valley is priceless. They sell honey and beeswax angels. Timeless and modern (sorta)--notice the TV antenna on the house. teehee

The Sun

will shine again. I took this picture this morning from my deck, looking south. Do you see Mt.Rainier looming in the background? I think tonight we may have a nice sunset and if the mountain is out I see another photo op. I love my new camera.

Belly deep

I don't have much to say today. It's wet, cold and depressing outside and it seems to follow me right inside. Nothing worse than wet, cold and a sullen grand-daughter. I feel like this bird--belly deep. A note on the bright side I am going to take Bingo to training for some house manners. Maybe he will stop eating things. He is such a happy dog I don't want to change his nature. MB

More eagles

I wanted to stay home yesterday but I just felt like driving down in the valley and taking pictures of whatever I found. I found many geese, swan, hawks and of course EAGLES. My new camera does a good job I think. I put the zoom all the way out to try for a close-up and that is the last picture so it may be a little fuzzy. But So What!! We have had so much rain that all the fields are very wet, like underwater. The farmers cut furrows across their fields in the winter so the water won't just sit there but drain away. Eagles must love to get their panteloons wet. MB

In Memory

My youngest daughter, Jolene, wanted to put something together for her dad, so this is it. Since Dave had a military funeral and we got the flag that was on the coffin---this is what we came up with. Now I know the picture isn't the greatest--the frame is in front of a mirror and across from windows---I got lots of glare. We can even change the pictures across the bottom of the frame.

Presents

Look what my daughter in Eastern Wa. sent me. The little garden girl--isn't she sweet. So is my daughter. Another daughter gave me the chicken for my birthday awhile back. she is sweet too.
And not to be outdone, look what Mother Nature gave me. I took this wonderful picture on my recent road trip. Aren't the apples beautiful. YES!

Excuse me?

Who is NOT supposed to be on the bed.I am busy doing stuff and guess who decided the bed is the best place for a nap. uh-uh. First it was Jake and when I went to get my camera---Bingo appeared. They don't seem too afraid of me.

Day Trippin'

Well I went driving down in the Skagit Valley yesterday. It turned out to be a fairly nice day. We had a light dusting of snow in the morning and then dry except for a few sprinkles here and there and some rain but out here who's counting. i saw many of the wintering birds, Eagles, Snow Geese, Trumpeter Swan and different hawks. The Eagle on the left is eating a goose and the others are just waiting in line. I saw maybe 25+ eagles today. Lots of Heron were out too. Perfect weather for them. The tide was in and the rivers fat.
