Babies at the pond

Every year the Canadian Geese come by my pond and have some babies. I hope this is the same pair. They won't let me get too close so click on the images to see the babies better.

Computer down---Hit the road

My computer was down so I went North to Bellingham. No snow today and a beautiful day. Bellingham Bay has many wonderful parks. this one is on South Bellingham Bay. It was sunny and chilly and windy, so many sailboats were out.

You Make My day

I was given this award by Ladyditn (http://kittyjustice.blogspot.com) and i in turn have to award it to people who make my day and are in my circle of friends. You know who you are:
Allison--alpicstreasures
Sue--countrypleasures
Bonnie--Beemoosie
Lea
Nancy Jo
Nance in France

God's Boxes.
I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box
And all your joys in the gold.
"I heeded His words and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I stored.
But though the gold became heavier each day.
The black was as light as before.
With curiosity, I opened the black box;
I wanted to find out why
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
I showed the hole to God and mused,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be.
"He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me.
"I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The black is for you to let go.
"We should consider all of our friends a blessing.
Send this to a friend today just to let them know you
Are thinking of them and that they are a joy in your life.
A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end,
It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends.
But the treasure inside for you to see.
Is the treasure of friendship you've granted to me.<><><>

Tulips---FINALLY

The Tulips in the valley are finally starting to open up. The Tulip Festival started April 1st and usually by the 1st the valley is awash with color. Cold weather has delayed lots of stuff. So here is a start and I will add more when they are better. MB

one fine saturday

Yesterday was a beautiful day, warm and in the 70s. I went over the mountains in the morning to pick up the G-kids who had spent Easter Break at their Aunt and Uncles ranch. I left at 7am and was home by 2am--Made good time.
Then almost everyone showed up here and cleaned up in the barn and worked with the horses and cleaned pastures and just had a grand ole time. Bingo found out that the hot fence really works. Poor boy. Here are acouple of pictures of Bradley brushing Bucky before and after Bucky had a bath.

Isn't this just the cutest house---if you can call a house cute. Look at the old world roof.

Red barn

I love this old barn and the house that goes with it. See the old tire swing. It just looks like summer days and farm kids. Look at the size of the tree by the house---there are 3 more in front also. Raindrops on my wind shield, too.

Off to Mothers

I went to see my Mother and wish her Happy Birthday. She is now 92. What a funny, dear sweet lady she is. I hope when I grow up I will be like her. We went shopping and to lunch and laughed a lot. She wants to paint her kitchen floor, so she has been painting different patterns that she might like. It will have to be different and colorful. Here are some designs:

Homestead

This is the LeQue Farm on LeQue Island in Stanwood.
You can see the house is still standing in the second picture and the history in the first. The house is boarded up now and the barn is there also (I forgot to take a picture). It is on a slough and a pretty spot.
Click on fiest pic to read history.
