Porch stuff

Today is a typical rainy western Wa. day. gray overcast, slight breeze and rain. The birds are on swaying feeders and the horses are standing under cedar trees. I was hopng the rain would let up a bit before I went out to feed but I guess I can get as wet as they are. Just standing on the front porch looking at the weather. That's what we do here -look at the weather. WEIRD So I took this picture of the front porch. Nothing special. I almost forgot the crocus in the leaves.

Skagit Valley Daffodils

The Skagit Valley is world renown for it's Tulips but it also grows many other bulbs. the daffodils are just breaking color and give a yellow glow on their farms. The tulips are up about 3 inches right now. The big Tulip Festival is around the end of March and the beginning of April. More pictures at that time. The tulip colors are glorious.

Lots of friendly deer---where can they go?

We went to my mother's today. She lives in Langley on Whidbey Island. It is a 2 hour drive. Not bad and lots of scenery. As you know my mother is 90, well 91 on April 2nd. She still lives by herself but now is beginning to talk about moving to the main land. It is very pretty on Whidbey specially being surrounded by water. She is very proud of her orchids. She has 3. And her crocus by the walkway. This is the Keystone ferry. It comes and goes to the Olympic Peninsula only. there is no town just a ferry dock. It is on the Ebby Historical Perserve. Next-----

The g-daughter---again

Here is Kylee again. I have been housebound for a week+ . I have no one to come in an sit with Dave. So I am going through my prints and of course I see Kylee and horses and what's a body to do. Favorites. She's gaming. Loves to run all out. I love the hair in the air, both K and her horse (Sadie) I think I posted one of these before. I put a picture of the boys with the little horses up for you all to see. It's from a calendar I got for Christmas from them. the picture was taken out in our pasture.

First cabin

This is a picture of one of the first cabin/houses in the Fir/Pleasant Ridge area. It was built in 1869 by Magnus Anderson, one of the very early residences of the fir area. The cabin was moved to Laconner. The other picture is the residence of Magnus taken from a newspaper article published in 1902. The man did good. The house no longer exists. Funny that the big house is gone but the cabin still stands.
