I think the pods left from the flower of the Magnolia look like pickles. they tickle my fancy!! this picture is my Magnolia beside my deck, looking down to the pond and the pastures behind. .

We have a magnolia in the front yard that has been the same size for about 30 years. No pods, no flowers, no nothing. Just a little magnolia. Maybe it's that sandy "soil" we have.....
