I don't care how much snow is on anybodies ground.....

........when the Redwinged Black Bird shows up it means SPRING is just around the corner.
I saw a pair of redwings down at the pond yesterday. They were checking stuff out. The make their nest in the tall reed grass or the cattails but there isn't much there yet. Well I suppose they know what they are doing. Things will be growing soon---I hope.

Over the years our pond has been a stop along the flight path of many birds.
This Wood Duck(Aix sponsa) stayed for a day and then off he went. He sure is a beauty. MB

Now a Museum...

.....Once a Carnegie Library.
The Carnegie Library was built in 1909 and became the Anacortes Museum in 1968 and in 1977 was placed on the National register of Historical Places.
