Spring is peeking

This plant is a black Pussywillow (Salix melanostachys). It is so pretty with it's reddish teigs and reddish-black fuzzies. It is shown in comparison with a French Pussywillow (Salix caprea). It was such a beautiful sunny day, temp around 50, g-boys in their shirt sleeves, I could feel Spring in the air. I know it can't be rushed but we sure try to push it. Click on pic to see the real beauty of the fuzzy. Looks like a blackberry. MB

To the mountains

I went on a little road trip today. Up to Baker Lake in the very close shadow of Mt. Baker. Snow everywhere and sunny and cold but lovely. The lakes were covered with snow making them beautiful. Here is a picture of Mt. Baker and Lake Tyee

My Grampa Joe

My Grampa Joe was a fireman for the city of Seattle. He started out as a driver with a team of horses. I believe this is the year he started 1911. He died in 1945 so I didn't even know him. MB

In the woods

I love this little house. It is in the woods, off the grid. I want it and it is for sale at a real nice price, with a few acres. It's not to far from where I live. If I was 25 I'd go for it. WAH!!
I guess that means I'm not!

Road trip to Moms

Yes off to Mother's again. Well that was yesterday. I stopped at a few beaches on the way and took bunches of great pictures. I took some pics of her stained glass which I posted on my Strawberry Hills blog. I walked out on the long pier at Langley Harbor and saw bubbles come up in the water and then look what appeared.
