Scenes from Whidbey Island Part 2

Coupeville(pop. 1,745) is the second oldest city in the state of Washington. It was established in the mid 1880s by Captain Thomas Coupe and his wife Maria. The town thrived as a shipping port for wool, lumber, grain and apples. Today it is a tiny historical town with a number of 19th century homes and storefronts, with more than 50 of which are listed on the National Historic Register. It is also home to the oldest surviving wharf in Puget Sound which today is home to Rosie, the only known gray whale skeleton on public display.

My favorites

Gazania is one of my very favorite flowers. They look southwesterny to me. The only drawback is they only open when the sun is shining and today it is icky and raining although I did pressure wash the front porch and walk way. I figured I was gonna get wet anyway so go for it and I did.
I wish today was as bright as these guys. I took the picture on thursday when I finished my containers.

As I mentioned before i went to my Mother's on Whidbey Island. I took some photos and over the next few days will show some of them.
You never know WHAT you may see.

Posies from the yard

Well, I am going out to Whidbey to visit my Mother. Maybe she has some more goodies for me. I will do some work around her place for her and she always fixes a yummy lunch. I will try to take some historical or hysterical pics.

June in the Pacific NW is Strawberry time. Most of the small towns have a Strawberry Festival.
