Olympic Midnight Jazz

This is Jazz. He is a Welsh Mountain Pony. He is my eldest daughters. She had the mare and Jazz was born at our house here on the west side. Cheri trained him to pull a cart and he was just lots of fun. She showed him and even drove him on the yearly John Wayne trailriders ride across the state. He is enjoying retirement on the ranch in Ritzville. Jazz is now 17 yrs old and looking like a range pony. He is happy. MB

Historic Barn for Barn Charm

Beautiful place on Camano Island. We have bought organic hay from them.

The hay barn in the foreground was built about 1914 and the newer addition was made in 1938. The barns are located on the Kristoferson Farm established about 1912. The family owned the Kristoferson Dairy in Seattle and the Camano farm was managed throughout the years primarily by caretakers. Recently family has taken over the farm again after many years. They are restoring the creek, replanting native shrubs and growing organic hay.

Pond Motel

We have a lot of visitors to the pond throught the year. Some rare and some just like this pair of Mallards. Sometimes they stay a day and sometime several days. Just a stop-over. I took these pictures today.
