Well they had some snow in Eastern Washington. This is my Grandson on the sled and one of the ranch horses checking it all out.

Fuzzy almost full Moon

Tomorrow will bw the total full moon also the first day of Winter--Winter solstice,
And depending where you are there will be a total Lunar Eclipse---well so much for a full moon then.

Native Shaker Church~~~~Tulalip Tribes

Two days ago I posted a picture of an old Native Shaker Church in Tulalip, Wa. A fellow blogger (http://eastgwillimburywow.blogspot.com/) challenged me to find the new Shaker Church--which I did and here it is.
The Tulalip Tribes consider this church part of their heritage and, in that spirit, gave money to construct a new church and banquet hall designed in the original style. Church members burned the old building in a ceremony and saved its ashes. Four hundred people -- many were Indians Shakers from all over the region -- attended the church opening on a rainy day on November 7, 2008.





The Indian Shaker Church is a Christian denomination founded in 1881 by Squaxin logger John Slocum in Washington. The Indian Shaker Church is a unique blend of American Indian, Catholic, and Protestant beliefs and practices.

The Indian Shakers are unrelated to the Shakers of New England (United Society of Believers) and are not to be confused with the Native American Church.

Mukilteo Lighthouse

I went to Whidbey Island to see my Mother today (Thursday). I take the ferry from Mukilteo to the Island. Mukilteo is one of the oldest cities in the state and although small has an interesting history.
But this is about the lighthouse.
The lighthouse went into operation in 1906. The lighthouse and a modern fog signal were automated in 1979, and in 1981, a remote fog sensor was installed. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, and in 1991 the Coast Guard leased the lighthouse to the city of Mukilteo, although navigational equipment is still maintained by the Coast Guard.
The light is a fresnel Lens.
The antique Fresnel Lens system was made in France in 1852 and is the only one of it's type still used in this state. It was installed in 1927 and has been in continuous use ever since.

The lighthouse is one of only a few lighthouses constructed of wood.
