Another day

Kinda chilly out this morning but the days are getting shorter and the nights cooler--summer is winding down. It will probably get into the low 70s today. Perfect. The Shower of Stars (Persius) are this weekend (for best viewing). I'll be looking.
Kylee and her Mother are going down to Yelm to a rodeo--so hopefully they will take pictures. They left at 5:30 this morning. So pretty out--Mt. Rainier all pinky.

Lost room

When my youngest daughter moved out almost 2 years ago I decided to make her room my sewing craft room. Good idea? Wait!! Now my daughter Shannon and Grand-daughter Kylee have moved back home and--yep--there goes my sewing room. Soo here is where everything is now---the living room. But the view is beautiful and I can daydream instead of sew.

Pretty in Pink

I just love these toonies.
Today my Grandson Mike is here--let's hope we will get some stuff done but I think we will go again and see my Mother. I think I will see her once a week from now on because ya just never know.

Summer days and sunflowers

This field is full of sunflowers to be picked and sold in the grocery stores. Another local farm type thing.

Old time living

This was an original homestead from this area. Lived in until the 1950s and moved to be preserved. The cedar slab house is what a lot of natives lived in and also early homesteaders and loggers. It is take from a sawn down Cedar and hollowed out and a roof put on and is cozy. They did make bigger ones where they cut cedar slabs as tall as was necessary and put them together and added a roof and a have a new home.
These now have a home at the Stanwood Fairgrounds and are used as a museum and a fun place for kids to hid and then have their pictures taken. I think the date on the cabin is 1888.

almost apples & lingonberries

My crabapple bonsai apples are just starting to turn red. It is a wonder it is still alive because when I was gone to E. WA. somebody forgot to water all my babies. But I saved everything. YAY!
My lingonberries are starting to bear but I have only 3 plants left, so no sauce this year. The lingonberry is the top picture.

Blue ribbons at the fair

Thank you Sue for encouraging me to enter my photos. I entered 3 photos at the 'Stanwood-Camano Island Community Fair'. YAY!!
Lake Cassidy...1st place
Bleeding Hearts...1st place
Snow 2007...2nd place
My favorite is the snow picture....goes to show what a good judge I am.
Of course I had to frame them and it is amazing how framing does change the some. Here they are unframed..
I just realized that is the wrong Lake c. picture--close though. Oh well
