Old derelict for Sepia scenes
This old derelict boat has been sitting here off Fidalgo Bay in Anacortes for many, many years. When you come around the corner on Fidalgo Bay Rd. it seemed a welcome sight. It has been the subject of many paintings and photographs. Its owner tied it up one day and abandoned it. It has been rotting away ever since. The city fathers decided to remove it because of pollution and who knows what else. There was a small skirmish but they won out in the end and the boat is no longer there. I kinda miss it.

So sad! That picture looks like it could have been taken years and years ago.
I think I can understand why the city fathers wanted to remove it...but still, it is a shame.
This boat has a derelict look. Yet when this craft was built, the picture of its launch would look as nice in sepia. This boat was a workhorse, it is a shame that it sits forlorn and abandoned. At least the sepia allows me to imagine when it was in its glory many eons ago...

Reminds me of the sinking boat in The Villages. They become a landmark (watermark?) ... I can imagine you're sorry it's gone and you can imagine how all those painters and other photographers feel!
But, the pollution danger is real, too...

What a beautiful boat in sepia. It may have been junk but it sure had a lot of personality. Maybe it had esbestis (no idea how to spell that) in the insulation and it was leaking into the ocean. And enviromentalists got hold of the info and then it was so long to the icon of the city. Just Kidding.
Very sad to loose such a piece of history though.
